~ Boxer The Horse ~

Calling Charlottetown Prince Edward Island home, what began as a folk duo, The Jeremy-Richard Experiment consisting of guitarist/vocalist Jeremy Gaudet and bassist Richard MacLeod eventually morphed into Boxer The Horse with the addition of drummer Andrew Woods and Isaac Neily on guitar and keys. The four almost 20-somethings have been performing steadily both locally and regionally. In the process they are building a fan base and profile that is quickly putting them in the top tier of East Coast bands.
Their debut EP “The Late Show”, which they recorded with Adam Gallant and released in April 2008 has been winning them fans across the country. The Late Show is six solid tracks emphasizing the group’s versatility and rich musical influences. Their signature mix of classic rock n’ roll and jangly-pop draws on some of music’s biggest names including The Kinks, Bob Dylan, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Strokes and Tom Waits.
A five song demo which includes some of the tracks from “The Late Show” in very raw form is still available for free from Sandbar Music. Check the Free Music page The initial limited pressing of 50 copies was quickly snatched up at a gig for 16-year old French exchange students in 2007 at UPEI. It has been like a snowball rolling downhill ever since. |
